Paul W. Klipsch Amphitheater

Klipsch Amphitheater
Located in a quiet, woodland setting just north of the Garden's Welcome Center is a masterfully sculpted amphitheater with fixed flagstone seating for approximately 500 people, plus additional lawn chair or blanket seating available on the perimeter of the theater.
After receiving a generous donation from Valerie Klipsch, widow of internationally acclaimed sound engineer Paul Klipsch, the Gardens honored Ms. Klipsch by naming the outdoor stage the "Paul and Valerie Klipsch Amphitheater. To further recognize the Klipsch family for their contribution, a pair of industrial Klipsch La Scala speakers and portable stage lighting have been installed. The La Scala is a renowned speaker belonging to the original group of Heritage Line speakers designed by Paul Klipsch and named in honor of the La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy. Manufactured in Hope, AR, the Klipschorn, the original and most famous speaker, is the longest continuous production run loudspeaker in the world at over 55 years. Paul Klipsch, the famed "Legend in Sound" designed and patented what many experts have said are the "finest quality loudspeakers" ever produced.
Beginning in the spring of 2005, the Gardens will offer the "Paul & Valerie Klipsch Amphitheater Series" that will include a variety of concerts, theatrical presentations, and children's plays for the cultural enjoyment of visitors and members of Garvan Woodland Gardens.
