Tuesday Tea: "Derby Tea" - SOLD OUT

Horse racing fans will enjoy the festivities of this tea celebrating the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Day. Enjoy specialty teas, gourmet scones, finger sandwiches, and an array of scrumptious desserts in the Magnolia Room or on the Garden veranda (weather permitting). Tea time is 3:00 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Price for GWG Members is $15 and Non-Members $18 (plus applicable tax). Seating is very limited so make your reservations early by purchasing tickets online or by calling 501-262-9300/800-366-4664.

Books and Butterflies - Meet the Author

Butterfly lovers won't want to miss this opportunity to meet and greet Lori A. Spencer, author of the book Arkansas Butterflies and Moths. The professional entomologist, lepidopterist, and interpreter will be in the Pratt Welcome Center from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to share her love of butterflies and to sign copies of her 300 page guide book. A powerpoint presentation is planned for 10:00 a.m. A limited supply of her books will be on hand for purchase.

The Art of Recycling for the Garden

Kandy Jones, alias the Garage Sale Queen, will be in the Magnolia Room from 10:00 a.m. to noon sharing her "Art of Recycling for the Garden." The well-known Little Rock artist is recognized for creating unique art and for helping others get in touch with their creativity. Her mosaic art is featured exclusively at the Clinton Museum Store; and she has appeared numerous times on KATV Channel 7's Daybreak sharing her unique art and garage sale tips. Jones will give a powerpoint presentation and a demonstration to inspire the artist in you.

Jazz Brunch

Looking for a way to jazz up a Sunday afternoon? Join us at the Gardens for brunch! We'll be gathering at the Garvan Pavilion at 11:00 a.m. for a delicious meal served to the toe-tapping tunes of the Jazz Cats. Special Touch Catering has a mouth-watering meal planned: crescent roll breakfast casserole, mini quiche, sausage roll up, pecan glazed baby carrots, crab dip with crostinis, fresh fruit with poppy seed dressing, assorted Danish, and orange juice. We'll also serve Bloody Marys and mojitos - cool summer cocktails. Cost is $20 for GWG members and $25 for non-members (plus applicable tax). Garvan Woodland Gardens is open 7 days a week:

  • Winter Hours: January - Closed February 1 - March 31 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
  • Spring/Summer Hours: April 1 - September 30 (9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
  • Fall Hours: October 1 - November 21 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
  • Holiday Lights Hours: November 22 - December 31 (12 noon - 9:00 p.m.) *Note: Special admission rates apply at 5:00 p.m. when lights are switched on.
  • The Garden is CLOSED Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and the entire month of January.

Miniature Model Railroad Garden Hours:

  • Feb. 20th - Mar. 19th:
    Saturday and Sunday only, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Mar. 23rd - May 28th:
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday only 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • May 29th - Sept. 4th:
    Everyday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From Rt. 270/MLK Ex-Way - take the #7 exit (Carpenter Dam Rd), go 3.5 miles. Turn RIGHT on Arkridge Rd., go 1 mile to Garden entrance.

From Malvern Ave/Rd - Take Carpenter Dam Rd. (Rt. 128) SOUTH 5 miles. Turn RIGHT on Arkridge Rd. Go 1 mile to Garden entrance.

From Rt. 7 SOUTH - Turn EAST/LEFT on Hwy. 290. Go 6.5 miles. Turn LEFT on Carpenter Dam Rd. (Rt. 128). Go 1-2 blocks, Turn LEFT on Arkridge Rd. Go 1 mile to Garden entrance.

From I-30 - Take Exit #97. Follow Lake Catherine State Park signs. Take Rt. 171 WEST to Rt. 290 WEST (TO HOT SPRINGS). Go 3.5 miles to Carpenter Dam Rd. Turn RIGHT. Go 1-2 blocks to Arkridge Rd. (first LEFT). Go 1 mile to Garden entrance.
